Pot Light Installation in Whitby

Recessed LED lighting for kitchens, living rooms, basements, and exteriors. Clean install, proper spacing, and dimmable circuits.

Pot lights transform a room without taking up visual space. No hanging fixtures, no dust traps, just even, controllable light where you need it. They work in virtually any ceiling, including insulated attic spaces with IC-rated housings.

We plan the layout with you (spacing, colour temperature, dimmer compatibility), cut precise holes, run new circuits where needed, and install IC-rated LED housings that meet current code. The result is a clean ceiling with balanced light and no hot spots.

How many pot lights do I need per room?

A general rule is one 4-inch light per 4-6 square feet of ceiling, or one 6-inch light per 6-8 square feet. A typical 12x14 kitchen gets 6-8 lights. We plan the exact layout during the assessment based on your ceiling height and desired brightness.

Can you install pot lights without attic access?

Yes. We use remodel housings that install from below through a small hole in the drywall. No attic access needed. This works in most finished ceilings including between floors.

What colour temperature should I choose?

2700K is warm and cozy (bedrooms, living rooms). 3000K is a neutral warm (most popular for general living). 4000K is brighter and cooler (kitchens, bathrooms, task areas). We can mix temperatures in the same home.

Do pot lights need their own circuit?

Not always, but adding lights to an already-loaded circuit can cause dimmer issues or tripping. We check the existing circuit load and run a new dedicated circuit if needed, especially for kitchens and large rooms.
