Panel Upgrades in Whitby

Upgrading from 100A to 200A, retiring fuse boxes, and adding capacity for modern electrical demands. Flat-rate pricing, ESA permit included.

Most homes in Whitby built before the 2000s run on 100-amp panels. That was fine when a house had a stove, a dryer, and a few lights. Today you are running central air, a home office, an EV charger, and a kitchen full of appliances on the same service. The panel cannot keep up.

A panel upgrade brings your home to 200-amp service, gives you room for new circuits, and replaces aging breakers that may not trip when they should. We handle the ESA permit, coordinate with your utility if a meter base swap is needed, and leave you with a clean, labeled panel.

How long does a panel upgrade take?

Most residential panel upgrades are done in a single day. If the utility needs to disconnect and reconnect your service (meter base replacement), there may be a planned outage of 2-4 hours during the swap.

Do I need a panel upgrade for an EV charger?

Not always. If your current panel has space for a 40A or 50A breaker and your service is already 200A, we can add the circuit directly. If you are on 100A service or your panel is full, an upgrade makes sense before adding the charger.

Will I lose power during the upgrade?

Yes, typically for 2-4 hours while we transfer circuits from the old panel to the new one. We will let you know the timeline before we start so you can plan around it.

How much does a panel upgrade cost in Whitby?

Every job is different depending on your existing setup and what is needed. We give free flat-rate quotes on site, so you know the exact price before any work begins. No estimates that creep up.
